Waterpark Design

Michael Lee Design specializes in planning, designing, and producing waterparks. We believe engineering happens after the design of the guest experience. We design with a theatrical approach driven by story art and imagination to energize waterpark projects and bring them to life for visitors.

Clearwater Key

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians contracted with Michael Lee Design to expand the family water attractions at The Pearl River Resort. MLD created a tropical island fantasy experience, complete with crystal blue waters, white sand beaches, private cabanas, performance stages, and island-themed retail and food offerings. This waterpark opened in the summer of 2003.

The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians hired Michael Lee Design to plan, design and produce a 20 acre water park, the first of its kind in the South and the first park in the world to be called a water theme park. We sourced, reviewed and recommended both the general contractor and the operator on behalf of the tribe. The project has received wide attention from various media groups including front page photo and articles in World Waterpark magazine.
